Product Introduction
Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, also known as sulfur bitter, bitter salt, laxative salt, laxative salt, chemical formula for MgSO4-7H2O), is white or colorless needle or oblique columnar crystals, odorless, cool and slightly bitter. Appearance and properties: belongs to rhombohedral crystal system, tetragonal granular or rhombic crystals, colorless, transparent, the aggregate is white, rose or green glassy luster. The shape is fibrous, needle-like, granular or powder. Odorless, bitter taste.
Solubility: soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and glycerol.
Main Uses
1.Foodstuffs
As food fortifier. China's regulations can be used in dairy products, the use of 3-7g/kg; in drinking liquids and milk beverages, the use of 1.4-2.8g/kg; in mineral beverages, the maximum use of 0.05g/kg.
2.Industry
It is mostly used with calcium salt in brewer's water, adding 4.4g/100l of water can increase the hardness by 1 degree, and if used more often, it produces bitter taste and hydrogen sulfide odor.
Used in tanning, explosives, paper making, porcelain, fertilizer, and medical oral laxatives, mineral water additives.
3.Agriculture
Magnesium sulfate is used as a fertilizer in agriculture because magnesium is one of the main components of chlorophyll. It is often used for potted plants or magnesium-deficient crops such as tomatoes, potatoes, and roses. The advantage of magnesium sulfate over other fertilizers is that it is more soluble. Magnesium sulfate is also used as a bath salt.
